Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)
ATCN was developed to teach established standards of trauma care and practical, life-saving skills. The course is designed for experienced nurses working in the pre-hospital setting, emergency department, critical care unit and operating room who wish to increase their knowledge and practical skills in managing critically injured trauma patients.
After participating in this program, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate concepts and principles of primary and secondary patient assessments.
- Establish management priorities in a trauma situation.
- Demonstrate management priorities necessary when dealing with the trauma patient.
- Be aware of the importance of a standardized team approach in trauma care, understand the ATCN common language and perform properly as a team member when managing multiple trauma patients.
This course is jointly accredited by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and Society of Trauma Nurses (STN). Upon completion, participants will receive 19 International CME credits from the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) and an official certificate valid internationally for 4 years.
